![]() Listen to the Cornell
Percussion Ensemble:
Music for Pieces of Wood, Steve Reich Double Music, John Cage/Lou Harrison ![]() |
The Cornell Percussion Ensemble will not
meet as a course in 2010-11. Please contact the instructor for more information or updates. CUPE performs pieces from the growing percussion repertory, exploring the breadth and depth of possibilities for percussionists. Our concerts might involve collaborations with composers and other instrumentalists, improvisation, and student-initiated ideas for performance. The group rehearses weekly, and performs as ready throughout the semester. Students may participate for credit or non-credit. Previous percussion background is required, and members must audition and also perform in a Cornell large ensemble (orchestras, wind ensembles, jazz ensembles, etc.) Students should register for Percussion Ensemble (MUSIC 3634), and also register for their chosen large ensemble. Audition materials are available here. Members of the Cornell Percussion Ensemble are entitled to use Cornell instruments and facilities for practice. A guide to Cornell's percussion room use can be found here. Course materials and audio files may be found here. |
