CUPE explores 20th and 21st Century compositions for percussion instruments and "found sounds," collaborations with composers, instrumentalists, and other artists, improvisation, and student-initiated ideas for performance. The group rehearses weekly, performing as ready throughout the semester. Students may participate for credit or non-credit. Previous percussion background is required, and members must audition and also perform in either the Cornell orchestras or wind ensembles. Students should register for "Chamber Winds" (MUSIC 437/438), and also register for their chosen large ensemble.
